FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The Larimer County coroner’s office has released the name of a bicyclist who was hit and killed by an SUV in Fort Collins.

The Coloradoan reports (https://goo.gl/6l2ebS ) 57-year-old Cesar Palermo, of Fort Collins, was struck near an intersection in the northern part of the city Saturday afternoon. He died later at a hospital.

Investigators say the 18-year-old man driving the SUV was trying to avoid hitting a pickup in front of him when he swerved and struck Palermo.

Police say alcohol did not play a role in the crash, but investigators are trying to determine if the teen driver fell asleep at the wheel. No charges have yet been filed.
