BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says a 19-year-old Bothell man has been arrested in connection with his grandmother’s stabbing.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton says a 58-year-old woman called authorities at about 4 a.m. Monday to report that her grandson had attacked her with her a knife as she slept in her home. Her grandson, who had been living with her, fled the home.

Deputies found him after searching the area. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree attempted murder.

The grandmother remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
