CORRYTOWN, Tenn. (AP) - The Knox County Volunteer Rescue Squad says a man was injured when he fell 25 feet off of the west overlook of House Mountain.

WBIR-TV (https://on.wbir.com/1IwVzoW ) reports the man fell Saturday around 12:30 p.m. His name and condition have not been released, but rescue squad volunteers say the man was alert and talking when he was taken to the hospital.

Authorities say it took the rescue squad working alongside Rural Metro an hour and a half to get him secure and loaded onto a LifeStar helicopter.

House Mountain is located about 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville and is Knox County’s tallest peak.
