NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Police are investigating a shooting in New Orleans that left one man dead.

Multiple news outlets report it happened Sunday around 7:09 p.m. on Interstate 10 eastbound. Police say the victim, who has not been identified, was driving when another car pulled alongside his and opened fire. The victim’s Chevy Malibu then crashed through a chain-link fence on the right side of the interstate.

The victim was struck by bullets multiple times and was pronounced dead on the scene. The three passengers in the car with the victim were not injured.

Police shut down traffic lanes to collect shell casings.
