RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A national train convention is bringing more than 400 professionals and train enthusiasts to Rutland from all over the United States and Canada.

City officials tell the Rutland Herald (https://bit.ly/1dpZLcm) the National Railway Historical Society’s train convention will offer scenic rides along Vermont’s freight tracks for at least seven days between June 14 and June 21.

The most expensive tickets are $549 round-trip Macintyre business class trips to Burlington, Bellows Falls and Hoosick Junction, New York.

Officials are encouraging everyone to participate, but only coach class tickets remain available. Tickets will be on sale between June 11 and June 21 and some include picture opportunities with the freight trains.

The Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing estimates attendees will spend nearly $550,000 during the convention.
