CLEVELAND (AP) - Authorities say a northeast Ohio man linked by DNA evidence to a sexual assault in 2000 has pleaded guilty to rape and other charges.

A jury in April found 33-year-old James Daniel III guilty of rape and other charges for two sexual assaults in Cleveland and Lakewood last year. He was arrested after DNA linked him to an attack on a jogger in Cleveland Sept. 20. Authorities said Daniels was also linked to a 2000 sexual assault that occurred during a home invasion in Cleveland.

Rape, kidnapping and robbery charges from the 2000 case originally had been scheduled for a separate trial to start Monday. Daniel pleaded guilty to those charges Friday. His attorney couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.

Daniel’s sentencing is scheduled for June 17.
