WILLINGBORO, N.J. (AP) - In a story June 7 about a fatal shooting in Willingboro, The Associated Press, relying on information from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, erroneously reported the location of the violence. The shooting occurred on the street in front of a house, not in its backyard, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement Monday.

A corrected version of the story is below:

Prosecutors: Man fatally shot during dispute at house party

Prosecutors: Man fatally shot during dispute at house party; motive under investigation

WILLINGBORO, N.J. (AP) - A dispute at a southern New Jersey house party ended with a man being fatally shot.

But it’s still not clear what sparked Saturday night’s shooting in Willingboro.

Burlington County prosecutors say the victim, identified only as a man in his early 40s, was shot shortly before 10 p.m. in the street in front of a Placid Lane home. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No other injuries were reported in the incident. Prosecutors declined to disclose further details on the shooting, including what type of weapon was used.

No arrests have been made.
