BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Lexington County authorities say a Batesburg-Leesville man shot a woman to death before killing himself.

Coroner Margaret Fisher said autopsy results showed that 54-year-old Michael Dewayne Blume shot 61-year-old Wanda F. Howard before shooting himself.

They were found in their home Friday night. They died from gunshot wounds to the head.

A family member had asked for deputies to check on the couple.

The coroner said the couple had lived together for more than 20 years, but Howard had left recently to live with her daughter.
