ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - A 20-year-old southern Utah woman died when the car she was in went off a cliff near Toquerville Falls.

The Spectrum newspaper in St. George reports (https://bit.ly/1BUYbFj ) that the accident occurred Monday morning in Washington County when a car driven by Cierra Perez’s boyfriend went off the cliff and crashed 100 feet down.

Washington County Sheriff’s office says Perez was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Mark James Wyler, was hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.

They say it doesn’t appear either was wearing a seat belt.

Toquerville Falls is located about 290 miles south of Salt Lake City.
