BETHLEHEM, N.H. (AP) - Gov. Maggie Hassan is scheduled to visit a New Hampshire high school where the graduating class gave the money raised for its class trip to the principal, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

Hassan is visiting with students at Profile Junior-Senior High School in Bethlehem on Tuesday afternoon.

Last month, the class, which had saved up $8,000 for the trip, unanimously voted to give the money to Principal Courtney Vashaw, who was recently diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of soft tissue cancer. Students also are holding other fundraising efforts for Vashaw.

Through donations, the students were able to go on a local class trip.
