TRONDHEIM, Norway (AP) - Magnus Moan of Norway used his strong cross-country skiing ability to secure his 24th career Nordic Combined World Cup victory on Thursday.

Moan was 10th after the ski jump and started the 10K cross-country race 30 seconds behind leader Eric Frenzel of Germany, who has already secured the overall World Cup title. But Moan took the lead after just two kilometers and stayed in front to win in 24 minutes, 22.9 seconds.

Fabian Riessle of Germany was 13.3 seconds back in second, while Italy’s Alessandro Pittin was the fastest skier to climb from 20th to third, 18.2 seconds behind Moan.

Frenzel finished 10th, 42.9 seconds back.

The last event of the season is held in Oslo on Saturday.
