SARATOGA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have charged a 19-year-old upstate New York man with slashing the throat of his 10-year-old brother.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office tells local media that the boy was injured around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the town of Saratoga, 25 miles north of Albany.

Deputies who were called to the home found the boy outside suffering from a neck injury.

Deputies say the boy was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of injuries that aren’t life-threatening. He’s listed in stable condition Thursday.

Police have charged the boy’s brother, Cody Clements, with felony first-degree assault. He’s being held in the county jail without bail.

It couldn’t be determined if Clements has a lawyer.

Police haven’t said what led to the attack.
