Vermont man shoots another at Charlotte gun range

CHARLOTTE, Vt. (AP) - One man was shot and another was cited for negligent discharge of a firearm after an accident at Vermont gun range.

State police say 19-year-old Joshua Scarfone of Shelburne was shot in the pelvic area just before 2 p.m. Friday at the Laberge Gun Range.

Police cited 20-year-old Joshua Ramstrom of Hinesburg for negligent discharge of a firearm for the shot fired while he was converting his rifle to a pistol.

State trooper Angela Baker says Scarfone was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the case is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the Chittenden County State Attorney’s office for review.
