PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is teaming up with the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island to celebrate Women’s History Month at the Slater Mill in Pawtucket.

The event will be held at 8:30 a.m., Monday. Gov. Gina Raimondo, Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien and other community and business leaders plan to participate.

The event will echo this year’s national theme for Women’s History Month, “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives,” by highlighting women’s stories and paying tribute to those who have made a difference.

Reed says it’s an opportunity to honor our history, commemorate the continued success of women and hopefully inspire future leaders to reach great heights.

The event features a panel discussion about how women have impacted Rhode Island’s society, led by the executive director of the Women’s Fund.
