SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) - A second San Angelo teenager has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2013 fatal shooting of two people during an argument at a party.

Johnny Garcia pleaded guilty Monday to capital murder. The 19-year-old Garcia was sentenced to life in prison without parole in the attack at a San Angelo apartment.

Daniel Uvalle (yoo-VY’-ay) was convicted last month of capital murder in the deaths of 22-year-olds Tabitha Freeman and Alvaro Carrillo Jr.

Uvalle was 17 at the time of the shootings. He’s now 18, was tried as an adult and eligible for parole in 40 years.

Texas law does not allow life in prison without parole for a defendant who was 17 at the time of a slaying.

Garcia was 18 at the time of the killings.
