DENVER (AP) - The police and FBI believe one man - nicknamed the Longhorn Bandit for the insignia on his baseball cap - has robbed four Denver area banks since February.

According to a statement from the FBI, it and local police are seeking a suspect who entered a Wheat Ridge credit union late in the work day on Feb. 19, presented a note, received money and fled. Similar robberies took place on Feb. 26 in Aurora, March 3 in Broomfield and March 1 in Arvada. The man is also believed to have made one other attempt and visited a sixth bank to determine whether to try to rob it.

In an email Wednesday, FBI spokeswoman Amy Sanders said the amount of money stolen would not be released.
