CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The state has identified a truck driver who was killed in a wreck at an Alpha Natural Resources surface mine in Raleigh County.

The West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health, Safety and Training says 52-year-old Von Edwards Bower was employed by an Alpha contractor, Rogers Petroleum.

A fuel truck driven by Bower overturned Tuesday morning on a haul road at the Bristol, Virginia-base company’s Republic Energy surface mine.

The state agency says the investigation of the accident is continuing.
