Police: Man kills fellow senior housing resident, himself

PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man who lived at a senior housing complex in Silicon Valley fatally shot a fellow resident before killing himself.

The KNTV television station in San Jose reports (https://bit.ly/18OhdoF ) Friday that two men were found shot to death Thursday afternoon at the Palo Alto complex about 6 miles from Stanford University.

Emergency crews were called about a person who needed medical assistance inside an elevator. Firefighters found a dead man in the elevator with a semi-automatic handgun on his lap.

Police say the man was in his 60s and had shot himself. A second man, also a resident of the complex, was found dead inside a first-floor office. Police say that man was his 70s. Their names were not released.

Police say there are no other suspects in the shootings.
