STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - A house fire outside of Staunton has left two people dead.

Chief Kevin Wilkes of the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company told the News Leader (https://bit.ly/1CEjFM8 ) the house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived early Friday.

A man was pulled from the house but later died at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. A woman’s body was later found inside the house.



Authorities have yet to release the identification of the victims.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
