HILLSIDE, Ill. (AP) - A 24-year-old woman has been charged with offering sex to a suburban Chicago police chief for $20 outside a gas station.

Prosecutors say the woman asked Hillside Police Chief Joe Lukaszek (luh-KAH’-shihk) for a cigarette about 7 p.m. Saturday. Lukaszek tells The Associated Press the woman approached him as he walked into the gas station, with his wife waiting in their vehicle.

Lukaszek says he told the woman to go away, but that she was insistent. He says she then offered sex in exchange for money.

According to Lukaszek, when he tried to arrest the woman, she hit him repeatedly and kicked him in the groin. He says she also tore his shirt from his collar to upper torso.

The woman was charged with prostitution, resisting arrest and aggravated battery. She was released on her own recognizance at a bond court hearing Sunday.
