CARBONDALE, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania woman whose young daughter was injured in a fall from a third-floor window has been sentenced to house arrest.

Twenty-four-year-old Chelsie Elders of Carbondale pleaded guilty last fall in Lackawanna County to endangering the welfare of a child.

WNEP-TV (https://bit.ly/1FvX8BF ) reports that she was sentenced Monday to three months house arrest and two years on probation.

Police alleged that the 4-year-old had been left unattended when she fell from an unlocked window into a pile of mulch almost a year ago.

Authorities said officers had been called to the apartment a day earlier after neighbors reported seeing the woman’s two children unattended.
