ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A jury has convicted two Rochester men in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man who was working to keep teens away from crime when he was gunned down on a city street three years ago.

Local med report that a Monroe County Court jury deliberated six hours before finding 22-year-old Devante Spencer and 20-year-old Chauncey Reid guilty Monday of murdering Lawrence Richardson.

He and two other men were shot as they walked on a Rochester street in April 2012. The other two men survived. Police say Richardson was targeted because of an earlier confrontation with Spencer.

At the time of the slaying, Richardson was working for the Teen Empowerment organization which works to organize youth for social change.
