DUNELLEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have identified a woman whose body was found burned in a field near a New Jersey Transit train station, and they say the death is considered suspicious.

Middlesex County prosecutors say the remains found Monday night in Dunellen were identified as 52-year-old borough resident Carol Ann Fratesi. But a cause of death has not been determined.

Prosecutors say railroad workers saw the fire and contacted NJ Transit police, who notified Dunellen police. Firefighters then quickly extinguished the fire and discovered the remains,

As officers investigated at the scene, 54-year-old Stephen Barry was arrested and charged in an unrelated case with burglary, possession of a burglary tool and making terroristic threats against police.

Barry’s bail was set at $100,000. Authorities say he doesn’t face any charges in Fratesi’s death.
