LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A former Lonoke County reserve deputy has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty in the 2013 death of his wife.

Lonoke County court documents show Charlie Bryant Jr. has pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence and first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Sharae Bryant.

A judge also issued several no-contact orders to bar Charlie Bryant from contacting his four children and members of his wife’s family.

Police in December 2013 responded to a call at Bryant’s home in Austin. They say they found his wife’s body with a gunshot wound in the driveway.
