SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - A man serving a life sentence for the 1982 murder of his business partner in a Philadelphia-area sex club has died.

The (Somerset) Daily American (https://bit.ly/1HyQJWS ) reports 73-year-old Eugene Banks died of natural causes on March 16 at Somerset Hospital.

Police say Banks was found unresponsive in his cell at the State Correctional Institution-Somerset before he was taken to the hospital. The prison is about 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

He was serving a life term for the killing of Robert Malarchik, whom he believed was skimming profits from Woodlands, a sex club the men operated in Upper Southampton Township, Bucks County.

Banks hired two hit men to kill Malarchik using a syringe and vial of cyanide, but Malarchik was shot instead after fighting with them and breaking the poison vial on July 14, 1982.
