COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A judge has consolidated two sexual exploitation cases against a former Council Bluffs high school math teacher.

A motion to join the cases against 29-year-old Jeffrey Daugherty was granted Monday. He was arrested in January following reports that he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student and again in February after a second student reported abuse.

Daugherty faces 12 charges in connection with the two alleged relationships. Those charges include third-degree sexual abuse, sexual exploitation by a school employee, sexual exploitation of a minor and lascivious conduct with a minor.

A new trial date has not yet been set. Daugherty resigned from his teaching position at Thomas Jefferson High School on Feb. 3.
