WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) - A man accused of starting a fire that burned five acres in a wetland area in northern Illinois has been charged with reckless conduct.

Woodstock police say 50-year-old David N. Ashley of Johnsburg was arrested at a campsite where he told officers he was burning garbage and that the fire had gotten out of hand.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1xeG0NM ) that Monday’s blaze burned about five acres of land. No residential property was damaged.

Ashley’s bond was set at $1,500. A phone number listed for Ashley was disconnected and he could not be reached for comment. It was not clear whether he already had an attorney who could comment on the case.
