MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A small dog that was tossed out of a car window is recovering at a New Hampshire animal shelter.

A passer-by driving home from work Friday saw the car ahead of her slow down and throw something white outside of a passenger-side window on a Manchester street. She first thought it was trash, then realized it was a dog. She stopped and took him to an animal clinic.

Veterinarians say the 10-pound dog has been named Cooper and is in good health. He’s estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old. He’s at the Manchester Animal Shelter.

Carolyn Vanderhorst of the shelter tells WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/19hcETK) he’s nervous and staff are trying to give him as much love as possible.
