ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of a parole in the 2013 fatal shooting at a home.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1EDSRXq ) reported in a story published Monday that 27-year-old Rico Combs was found guilty last month of 16 charges, including first-degree murder, domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was sentenced Friday in St. Louis Circuit Court.

Authorities say Combs broke into the home of the mother of his children and shot at two men, killing one of them.

Prosecutors say Combs found the woman and his three children - ages 3, 5 and 7 - hiding in a closet. Combs shot at the woman, missed and then hit her with a pistol.
