CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis man is facing charges for allegedly allowing a murder suspect to hide under a bed in his home.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1xdmiSu ) reports that 25-year-old Zakariyah M. Benruwin of Richmond Heights was charged last week with hindering prosecution, a felony. He is jailed on $25,000 bond.

Police say Benruwin is a friend of Dustin McDanel, who was wanted in January for the fatal shooting of a man in Ottumwa, Iowa. Police searched for McDanel for three weeks before getting a tip that led to Benruwin’s home. Police say they found McDanel hiding under a bed.

Richmond Heights Sgt. Gerry Rohr says in court documents that Benruwin confessed to concealing McDanel while knowing he was being sought by police.
