HONOLULU (AP) - Maui authorities say a park in Kahului was closed after the discovery of suspected unexploded ordnance.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser newspaper (https://is.gd/ppwIkh) reports Keopuolani Park was closed near the playground area Monday morning.

Military explosives experts were called in.

According to authorities, Hawaiian immersion students who are dropped off at the park were redirected to the War Memorial Stadium.
