LORIS, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating an accident involving a van from a church in North Carolina and a truck that killed a woman and sent seven people to the hospital.

The Highway Patrol tells local media outlets the accident happened about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday outside Loris in Horry County near the North Carolina state line.

Authorities say that the van, from a church in Nakina, North Carolina, ran a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck.

A passenger in the van, 29-year-old Rebecca Lynn Drew of Whiteville, North Carolina, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the van and three other passengers were hospitalized, as was the driver and two passengers in the truck.
