BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Bluefield is seeking volunteers to help with a cleanup of the overlook on East River Mountain.

The cleanup is set for April 1.

City manager Dane Rideout tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph (https://bit.ly/1N7nVFl ) that the cleanup includes removing trash, putting down fresh mulch and moving a trash bin from the site. If the weather is good, fixtures will be painted.

Rideout says some people have dumped household trash in the bin. City officials believe bears also have gotten into the bin.

He says the overlook is a popular spot. After the cleanup is completed, a city maintenance team will be assigned to work regularly on the site.
