MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Defense attorneys have asked for a change of venue in the trial of a 47-year-old accused in a fatal stabbing in Daleville.

The Star Press (https://tspne.ws/1BMxTmV ) reports Juan Hernandez has been charged with the Jan. 13 killing of 55-year-old Mark Hittson of Muncie at a truck terminal. Hittson’s wife was wounded, and Hernandez is also charged with battery with a deadly weapon.

Public defender Brandon Murphy told a judge Tuesday that articles on the case in The Star Press include details of Hernandez’s criminal history that likely wouldn’t be relevant in the trial. Deputy Prosecutor Doug Mawhorr said the stories didn’t appear “inflammatory.”

The judge took the defense’s request under advisement.

Hernandez’s trial is scheduled to begin June 15.
