LAS VEGAS (AP) - Federal prosecutors are taking the case against a 36-year-old Las Vegas man accused of having 53 guns and two silencers at a home and medical marijuana dispensary he’s accused of operating as an illegal pot delivery service.

U.S. attorney’s office spokeswoman Natalie Collins said Tuesday that Christopher Lee McDermott was charged Monday with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

On Tuesday, state prosecutors told a judge that local conspiracy, drug sale and trafficking charges against McDermott were dropped.

Collins says McDermott will be scheduled for an initial federal court appearance.

Las Vegas police last week reported finding rifles and assault-style weapons at a store called Super Budz, and at a home in a golf course community in northwest Las Vegas.

Investigators also seized marijuana, marijuana extract products and packaging materials.
