ATLANTA (AP) - Fulton County Police Chief Cassandra Jones says she plans to retire next month.

WAGA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/18Wz6lf) that Jones, who is Fulton County’s first African-American female chief, has been with the department for 35 years and has been chief since 2007. Her retirement is effective April 7.

The Atlanta station reports that Assistant Chief Gary Stiles will be the interim police chief.
