AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say they stopped a 25-year-old wanted in connection with a robbery in Augusta and discovered 40 grams of heroin during his arrest.

Authorities say an Augusta police officer spotted 25-year-old Corey Dionne driving Wednesday and recognized him as a suspect in the beating and robbery of a man in Augusta last year.

While taking Dionne into custody, police say, the officer discovered 40 grams of heroin.

Dionne is charged with aggravated assault and robbery in the May 25 incident that sent the 27-year-old robbery victim to the hospital after he was beaten with a blunt object.

Dionne was also charged with drug trafficking. He is being held at the Kennebec County Jail on $100,500 bail.

It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
