MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - The Highway Patrol says a Mitchell man who died when he fled from police and crashed into a parked car had a blood alcohol level that was four times the legal limit for driving.

Authorities say 33-year-old Ryan McManus led law officers on a chase March 14 an eventually lost control of his car and crashed. The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1LX4eCW ) that the investigation is continuing.

Court documents obtained by the newspaper earlier showed that McManus had been involved in at least three other incidents since 2004 in which police said he fled from officers, either in a vehicle or on foot.
