MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - A Mitchell man is facing felony charges for allegedly drunkenly fleeing police in his car and crashing into two other vehicles.

Police say 34-year-old Charles Reed fled officers on Friday after a resident reported he was trying to kick down her door.

The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/19lOEPd ) officers chased Reed but eventually stopped because of concerns about speed and a nearby school. Police say Reed then sped through an intersection and crashed into two vehicles.

All four people in the cars he hit were injured, including a child who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Reed is charged with four felonies, including third-offense drunken driving and aggravated eluding of law enforcement. He was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital following the collision. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
