MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Guard Pookie Powell and guard/forward Nick King are transferring from Memphis.

Memphis coach Josh Pastner announced their departures Wednesday in a university release. Pastner said both are in good academic standing and that, “We support both players and wish them all the best.”

King, who is 6-foot-7, averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season. King, who is from Memphis, played in 28 games and made seven starts.

Powell, a 6-1 guard from Orlando, Florida, averaged 4.3 points, 2.7 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore this season.

Memphis went 18-14 this season and ended a string of four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
