MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - President Barack Obama plans to travel to Alabama Thursday to give a speech about the economy and consumer protection.

Obama will participate in a round table discussion and make remarks at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham.

This is the president’s second visit to Alabama this month.

Earlier in March, Obama traveled to Selma to mark the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday.” Obama led a symbolic march across the bridge where civil rights protesters were beaten by police in 1965.
