CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland police say a 19-year-old man has been shot and killed by a homeowner who said he found two burglary suspects inside his residence.

A police spokesman says officers were called to a home at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man shot. Police say an investigation indicates that the homeowner found two men inside his house and fired multiple shots at them. Police say the second man fled. It’s unknown if he was injured.

A medical examiner has identified the 19-year-old as Joseph Eason of Cleveland. He died at a hospital on Tuesday.

The spokesman says the homeowner’s firearm was confiscated and that police will investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting and will search for the second suspect.
