NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in southwest Idaho say a Caldwell man attempting to elude police sprinted across Interstate 84 and caused a two-vehicle crash.

The Nampa Police Department says officers tried to take 25-year-old Alex Bailey into custody on Tuesday for an outstanding warrant but he fled onto the highway.

Police say drivers topped to avoid hitting him but two vehicles crashed. Occupants of one of the vehicles were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police captured Bailey and he was booked into the Canyon County Jail.

He faces charges that include felony possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a police officer and felony possession of a firearm.
