SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane, Washington, police officer was on his way home from work when he heard the call about a bank robbery.

A male robber had demanded cash Wednesday afternoon at a Washington Trust Bank branch but didn’t display a weapon.

Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton says Officer James Christensen spotted the suspect riding a bike and quickly arrested him.

The arrest came just eight minutes after the original emergency call.
