TAYLOR, Texas (AP) - The Texas Department of Public Safety says two people were injured after a small plane they were in made a hard landing and flipped near Taylor.

The conditions of the two weren’t immediately available Tuesday night.

The department says the single-engine plane landed Tuesday afternoon in a field north of Taylor.

Trooper Robbie Barrera tells the Austin American-Statesman that a female flight student and a male instructor took off from Taylor and were practicing stalls when they had to make an emergency landing.

Barrera said the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident, but isn’t classifying it as a crash at this time. FAA investigators are expected to arrive at the scene Wednesday.
