KODIAK, Alaska (AP) - The state has scheduled a test for 10 a.m. Wednesday to test Alaska’s tsunami warning system.

Kodiak radio station KMXT (https://is.gd/M0qkGr) reports the drill is part of the state’s Tsunami Preparedness week.

Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management spokesman Jeremy Zidek says communities in tsunami vulnerable areas will receive the test warnings through local television and radio stations, as well as the weather radio of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Zidek says his agency also is asking people to fill out a short survey online about the drill.
