RANDOLPH, Vt. (AP) - Vermont food sellers and buyers are getting together to try to make a match.

Farmers, food producers and processors will get a chance to meet with grocers, restaurants, hotels, and institutions at Vermont Local Food Matchmaker Event Wednesday at Vermont Technical College in Randolph.

Organizers say the event is “like speed-dating.”

More than 60 producers and 40 buyers are expected to attend the event from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Jim Harrison, president of the Vermont Retail and Grocers Association says “Vermont retailers are eager to support local growers and producers, and to provide their customers with healthy, local options that support Vermont’s agricultural economy.”

Registration for the event is now closed.
