TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A $220,000 settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by a former Texarkana city clerk against the southwestern Arkansas city and other public officials.

The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/1EH8PzP ) reports that Patti Scott Grey filed the lawsuit regarding her termination by the city’s Board of Directors last February. Her firing came amid allegations that she accused city manager Harold Boldt of stealing and inappropriately using her signature stamp.

Grey had worked for the city for 21 years and had served as city clerk since 2000.

Boldt announced his resignation Wednesday after the board’s vote, but said in a news conference afterward that his decision didn’t have anything to do with the lawsuit. He will leave office in June.
