CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Five bounty hunters face charges including robbery, assault and kidnapping in Camden County after an incident Wednesday night.

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo said Thursday the five went to Chesilhurst seeking a 38-year-old man wanted on drug charges.

Three of the bounty hunters allegedly chased the man by car when he fled, then assaulted and robbed him. The other two allegedly stayed behind and handcuffed the 17-year-old and robbed him of cash and his cellphone.

Colalillo says only one of the men, Burlington Township resident Marvella Brown-Bailey, was a certified bondsperson.

The five are charged with crimes including robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and weapons offenses. They were being held in lieu of bail ranging from $100,000 to $400,000.

It wasn’t known if Brown-Bailey had retained an attorney.
