SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - Suffolk police say foul play isn’t suspected in the death of a 6-year-old boy found in a retention pond.

Police tell media outlets that the boy was reported missing around 6 p.m. Wednesday. He was found unresponsive in the pond a short time later.

The boy was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The boy’s name hasn’t been released. He was a student at Creekside Elementary School.
